WYDAWNICTWO MY MUSIC
Rzepczyno remains true to its artistic path, its roots, and the sources from which it draws inspiration. The band stays faithful to its distinctive sound, which results from a remarkable blend of typical rock instrumentation with more folk-oriented – though not always – elements like the accordion and violin. Rzepczyno boldly fuses folk with rock, punk, and reggae.
On their second album, Rzepczyno demonstrates a consistent search for new ideas, while also showing courage and continuous growth. The musicians break rhythms and rules, seamlessly moving through various sounds and atmospheres. They aren’t afraid of a touch of humour – both musical and lyrical – yet they can also play a sentimental tune. Their vocal abilities have improved significantly, both in solos and harmonies. Their increasingly confident exploration of folk yields positively surprising results. It proves that inspiration and excitement can be found not only in highland music. The “lowlands” are equally vibrant, and several songs on the new album are true „gems” of Polish folk-rock.
WYDAWNICTWO KOCH INTERNATIONAL POLSKA
Rzepczyno’s debut album, promoted by the song „Gajowy”, for which an animated music video was created, sold out completely.
Rzepczyno – „Nie filozuj”„This phonogram has its own style. It’s joyful, dynamic, and unpretentious music, built on varied arrangements. Folk instruments and lyrics are woven into a rock framework in a way that could serve as a model for others. Both the traditional instrumentation and words are naturally integrated, not forced into the songs. It’s worth noting that there’s humour in this music – without any pretence, grimaces, or awkward attempts to mimic traditional folk. Past experiences show that playing folk-rock is not easy, yet this record proves that close inspiration from folk music can be accessible, engaging, and satisfying in its plugged-in form. Its strength lies in its sharp, punk-influenced style, thoughtful and logical song structures, interesting riffs, and rich sound. The creators of this record have developed something new and welcoming.”Marcin Skrzypek (Gadki z Chatki)
